British company, Royal Enfield, which produced in the early 20th century, not only motorcycles, but the guns, established in 1955 in Madras factory Indian Enfield. But in the 60s motorcycle production in Britain was stopped, but in India and is still produced the original Bullet 350cc.

Originally Bullet model was conceived in the mid-1930s as a military motorcycle for the British Army and was used extensively for other purposes during the Second World War. But with the end of the war model "military" has been discontinued, but in independent (since 1947) of India demand just born. Bullet motorcycle and today remains a general purpose for the Indian Army and police.

Over time, Indian industrialists to buy out all of the English factory in Madras, but thought it best not to change anything in the production, so that, to this day, the assembly line to go - in fact - the all-new motorcycles fifty years! In the year collected about 20,000 machines with many of the original tools and molds. There is still a lot of manual labor in the finishing, including the gas tank painted with gold paint. Bullet, of course, a real classic, whose one-cylinder engine capacity of 350 or 500 cc emits a low, deep sound and provides considerable torque, making the bike wits dubbed "two-wheeled tractor." At idle you can count on hearing the number of revolutions per minute of the engine.

In the mid-1990s to the classic Bullet designer put his arm Austrian Fritz Egli, resulting in the range of very stylish, well-performing motorcycles, not lost, however, its original old-fashioned charm.

Enfields are not created for high speeds (driving more than 80 km / h in India akin to suicide), all about aesthetics and convenience. Unconventional, so-called "English", the layout of controls - under the left foot brake, a gear under the right - take a bit of time getting used to, but in the end you start to get pure enjoyment of this fascinating machine. Especially with a wide variety of Indian roads. In the north, in the Himalayas, a string of serpentine, the highest in the world. In the west, in Rajasthan, the most real sandy deserts, which put first-class highway. In the south, the road curls along the beaches, jungles and tea plantations. In short, you will find India at Anfield for every taste.
